- Go ahead and start sharing your files with your family, friends and teammates as you can now attach and upload files to your Document items.
- Documents are now saved to your Downloads folder instead of a temporary folder.
- Copying an item is now available via the item’s action menu.
- System tray icon has been redesigned and it now dynamically updates to inform you if 1Password is locked or unlocked.
- Updated our setting icons.
- Quickly create a new item with the keyboard shortcut,
Control + N
. - Trash and restore item options are now available via the item’s actions menu on the top right. Note the Trash view is not yet implemented.
- 1Password now automatically prompts for your system auth / biometric and only if you are using it; to avoid prompting in background like when it auto-locks.
- Unlocking 1Password via the browser integration has been improved; 1Password now will appear centered on your browser to unlock with your system auth / biometric option and then closes afterward.
- Added support for the upcoming stable release of 1Password extension for your browsers.
- Improved the browser integration support by factoring in the individual lock status of 1Password accounts within the app.
- Linked Apps section is now available in the item’s details view and it can be edited.
- Improved the sorting of vaults on the sidebar to show the Private vault first and everything else alphanumerically.
- The category filter in the item list and the new item menu will now show the common categories at the top and the rest is alphabetical.
- 1Password will default to to the Private vault on the sidebar instead of All Items.
- Items will retain its contextual subtitles when selecting different sort options in the item list.
- Refined the design of the Move Item view.
- Search field in Move Item view is now set to be focused by default.
- While selecting a vault to move an item to, the item’s current account will be shown first in the list.
- When scrolling to the first item in the item list, it will now be set just above its section header.
- When scrolling between quick find results, it would often go back to top if 1Password was updating because of changes made elsewhere.
- Item list no longer scrolls back up to the top whenever it has to refresh due to changes made elsewhere.
- Switching between setting tabs now returns to the top instead of remaining at the previous scroll position.
- Disabled the security related settings in the Settings view while 1Password is locked.
- Adjusted our minimal width sizes in all views to fit our overall design.
- Fixed the issue where pressing
Control + E
on an item where you’d have no permission to edit would set the view to be blank instead of ignoring the shortcut. - Updated the wording for cancelling unsaved changes for an existing item.
- Improved how 1Password refreshes its current view when it no longer has the data for its now stale view due to changes made elsewhere.
- Watchtower now shows the Inactive 2FA card on its dashboard.
- If certain Watchtower features were turned off, Watchtower would display them with 0 item count instead of removing their cards on the dashboard.
- The Show Items button for the Vulnerable Passwords card on Watchtower were incorrectly linked to the item list of Compromised Logins instead.
- Added a toast notification for when you copied a link to an item.
- Fixed the regression in the last update where you’d have to click Move twice in the Move Item view.
- Fixed the number cutoff when showing a 3-digit character length in the password generator.
- Sped up the generation of memorable passwords.
- Renamed the placeholder for the Credit Card item’s verification number field from password to number.
- Updated the placeholder for sharing links to your private vault’s items; clarifying that only you would have access to that vault.
- 1Password didn’t fully switch to the lock view after one of the 1Password accounts was removed due to the device de-authorization.
- System authentication/biometric unlock will be automatically dismissed when the third failed attempt was made to unlock with the account password.
- Dismissing the system authentication / biometric prompt no longer returns an error message on the lock view.
- Reduced logs related to our browser integration support.
- Improved our post-install script to remove sudo commands as it was already running elevated on certain setups and did not need sudo explicitly.
- For Arch-based distributions, we now use the tar format instead of the AppImage format.
- To avoid unexpected app behaviors, we now aggressively crash the entire app if it faced unrecoverable internal crashes from anywhere in the app.
- Updated the internal libraries, which also included an internal crash fix related to exiting 1Password.
- Security: Implemented additional protections on transferring and scrubbing sensitive data between certain processes.
- Security: Added a flag to our process to disable core dumps.
